Cochem's “Burgweihnacht” (Castle Christmas)

Cochem's “Reichsburg” (Imperial Castle) offers a very special spectacle in the form of Cochem's “Castle Christmas”. In the centre of the castle grounds, the nativity scene comes to life. Live animals and historically costumed actors portray the Christmas story and even the symbolic Star of Bethlehem shines behind the thick castle walls. In the bailey you are greeted by a shepherd who sets off with Mary and Joseph on the difficult search for somewhere to stay. At the climax you are lead to the stable in Bethlehem where the shepherds, animals and the Three Wise Men rest at the bed of the Christ Child. And finally a little Christmas market awaits you as guest of Cochem's Castle Christmas. Scrumptious titbits and Christmas items make for a nice conclusion.
