Mosel Hiking Trail Stage 20 - Treis-Karden to Moselkern

A section that starts with culture and history: Past the Moseldom - the Stiftskurie St. Castor in Treis-Karden - leads the climb on a short but steep path purely in the nature has to offer here with wild boxwood stocks unusual. Here are challenging passages along the edge of the slope and steep vineyards, with views of the wild gorge of Krailsbachs. As a special highlight of the Wanderer expects the Burg Eltz - one of the landmarks of German history. It is hidden in Elzbachtal and thus escaped the devastation of the Thirty Years 'War and the Nine Years' War. A side trip to visit the original furnished castle and the well-stocked with jewelry, weapons and porcelain Treasury and Armoury is a worthwhile trip. After this experience, it goes along the Elzbach for wine village Moselkern.
