Mosel Hiking Trail Stage 22 - Löf to Kobern-Gondorf

A journey through time promises this stage, which starts in Löf and via alkene up to Kobern-Gondorf. At the beginning it goes to one of the oldest castles in the Mosel country, the Burg Thurant from the 12th century, resulting from the wonderful views down the valley off. Challenging the path leads through the "Seven-prostrations-Kreuzweg" uphill through the vineyards, to the plateau of Bleidenbergs is reached. It is surrounded on a beautiful Hangkantenweg and offers breathtaking views. Surprisingly then the insight into the prehistoric past of the region: Hardly anyone, to the ideological reconstruction of the storage bin of Homo erectus with the mighty iron sculpture of a forest elephant would not inspire. This stage is completed by two well-known scenic spots - the Hitzlay and the Monk Felix Hut. Finally, the Mosel riser empties a steep winding path to Aspelerbachtal and from there over the Mosel gold bridge on Kobern-Gondorf.
