The Landesmuseum of the town of Coblenz situated on the former fortification Ehrenbreitstein houses the National Collection on Prehistory and Ethnography, founded in 1956.
It is a museum dedicated to the history of technology and economy with permanent exhibitions on the themes of wine growing and production, iron and pewter work or archeology on the Rhine and Mosel. These are supplemented several times each year by special exhibitions.
Since 2012 the Landesmuseum in Coblenz has also administered the House of Photography, in which the visitor can view a province-wide exhibition on the history of photography.
