Report an issueOpened in 1992, the Ludwig Museum is located immediately next to the “Deutsches Eck” in the Deutschherrenhaus and focuses on the art of our neighbour country, France. The visitor can gain insight into the country’s current development of art because here you will find not only the works of older artists, modern-day artists also profit from the museum’s function as a mediator. The Ludwig museum in Koblenz is one of five Ludwig Museums in Germany alone and these thus fill a gap in the German museum landscape. The Ludwig Museum was initiated by Peter Ludwig and his wife Irene whose art collection at the time formed the basis of the museums’ exhibits.
