Mosel Hiking Trail Stage 17 - Ediger-Eller to Beilstein

A challenging stage that leads through cultivated vineyards and thereby grants varied views the Mosel valley. After starting in Ediger-Eller, the route leads past numerous Heiligenhäuschen. A feeder path to the Roman tombs Nehren whose vault painting is the best preserved north of the Alps, provides in here for a quick trip. After a vineyard section we continue along a narrow forest path through the Briedener Switzerland, which is characterized by its impressive nature. Passing the great Carmelite church leads the way through the famous monastery stairs to the stage endpoint Beilstein. The small Mosel village is also known as the "Sleeping Beauty of the Mosel", as it has been widely used in the past with its narrow streets and half-timbered backdrop as a location for home movies.
