Middle Mosel Wine Festival

On the first weekend of September the time has come for the start of the big five-day Middle Mosel wine festival. From Thursday to Monday the Mosella (Wine Queen) assumes regency over the small Mosel town. The river bank in Bernkastel becomes a wine route with stands from vintners from the surrounding villages in the Middle Mosel area. The picturesque old town’s squares set the stage for musicians and bands to provide the fitting musical atmosphere.

As if that were not enough, the Kues river bank is the setting for a large fair ground with rides for young and old, shooting galleries and confectionery stands. Along the way a craft market is held from Friday till Tuesday. The high points of the wine festival are without a doubt the firework display on the Saturday and the vintners’ procession on the Sunday.
