Bernkastler "Switzerland"

There are many "Schweizen", but none so small as the "Bernkasteler Schweiz", and yet perhaps also not as idyllically and picturesquely situated as here in the Tiefenbach river valley. Here to the south-east of the town (some 1,2 kilometres from the Mosel bridge), the wild water of the Tiefenbach fights its way down from the plateau, through the hard slate into the valley, plunging headlong as a 4 meter high, roaring waterfall down into a small ravine and continuing its journey peacefully into the Mosel.
