Report an issueThe museum at Trier Cathedral offers an ideal atmosphere, with its well-lit hallways and passages, for the appreciation of works of Christian art and religious traditions. Ten years of restoration have brought significant ceiling frescoes to light.
The museum was originally a royal Prussian prison. Significant objects of church history are collected and exhibited here, for example monuments, altar devices, sculptures and liturgical vestments. There is also a collection of coins and medals. The items on loan exhibited here reflect the antique past of the town of Trier. The museum focuses on the church structures of the Cathedral, the Church of Our Lady and the early history of the Church in Trier.
