Geocaching in Trier

In bygone days sticks were laid out, the path was marked with bright colours – this was called a paper chase. Today we are all a few steps ahead. The modern version of the paper chase is “Geocaching”. One could also call it a treasure hunt as, equipped with a GPS receiver, we set out in search of “treasure”.

This amusing and exciting adventure can also be enjoyed at the Mosel in varying degrees of difficulty. In the course of the cache-tour you have to solve a riddle at each consecutive checkpoint and the solution gives you the coordinates for the next checkpoint. The game can be played walking on level ground or, for those inclined, at a dizzy height on a rocky ledge – but always with a fine view of the delightful Mosel landscape. An interesting and exciting pastime for young and older adventurers alike.
