To be seen on any postcard – the “Round Tower”, situated above the town by the cemetery, and visible from far and wide. Once used as a gunpowder tower, it was with its 14 metres the highest tower of the former city walls of Zell.
But for a few remains, the city walls were demolished in the year 1848 after a major fire. The Round Tower was left intact and was used at the time for emergency accommodation. Today it is the emblem of the town of Zell on the Mosel.
