Festivities among vine-blossom and Federweisser

The most beautiful bloom of the year is probably also one of the most unimpressive - the vine-blossom. Yet a successful and early flowering lays the foundation for a qualitatively and quantitatively good wine year. This is, of course, celebrated in many places up and down the river Mosel. Usually combined with a presentation of the new wine vintage.

That wine, culture and festivals belong together, one can quickly find out during a visit to the Moselle. For as numerous as the vineyards and wine villages, are the atmospheric festivals. Throughout the year wine and street festivals, wine walks, winemaker's couryard festivals, wine cellar days or traditional costume festivals attract the eye, heart and palate. Where wine is grown, there is always a reason to celebrate.

In September and October, during the grape harvest in the mostly steep slopes, the Moselle is exceptionally lively. The German wine culture is celebrated. The fresh, sparkling new wine is enjoyed in decorated loggias or charming wine-growing estates between medieval frame houses. In addition to the well-cooled Riesling wines, you can pamper yourself with regional treats out of the wine cellar and enjoy the colorful program. The cherry on the icing of most festivities is the election of the wine queen and a brilliant fireworks.
